Small Mysteries
Cities are infinitely fascinating. Something simple can become enigmatic on closer inspection. An exit sign pointing to the the entrance in the neighboring building is a bit strange. The artwork on the drain pipe is unusual, but the fact the drain pipe originates from the window on the second floor and not from, for example, a gutter on a roof, creates a bit of a mystery. Troops in the Streets
We walked downtown today to see what we could of the preparation of the inauguration for Joe Biden. These US army troops were a few of the military and law enforcement personnel deployed. They were in a rush. As the troops passed, the ones at the rear shouted for those in front to slow down. This was taken about a block away from the White House. Click on the image for a larger view.
